'Coping With Grief' Becomes #1 Stock Trading Guide

Funny stock trading meme

Wall Street has a new favorite manual, and it’s not from a finance guru. Instead, Coping With Grief, a self-help book meant for processing trading’s emotional loss, is flying off the shelves. The trend started when a beginner investor asked about the best stock trading book recommendation on Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets, and the book flew to the top.

The book’s chapters, such as Denial: This Stock Will Come Back and Pain Avoidance: Just Don’t Trade, Dummy, have resonated deeply with traders navigating the volatile markets. The chapter on Acceptance: You Should Have Bought Index Funds—has reportedly brought many readers to tears.

Traders are now eagerly awaiting the sequel, Finding Closure: Selling at a Loss Without Crying. In the meantime, brokers are offering themed therapy groups and personal finance coaches are considering grief counseling certifications.

Author Dr. Anita Break has been overwhelmed at the book’s reception. “I’m very glad the book is helping, I see so many patients who are deep in grief about their brokerage accounts,” she said. “It was really time to recognize this emotional pain and help traders achieve their full potential.”
